It was while attending Sixth Form that Joe volunteered his time organising the school’s running club and discovered a passion for coaching at a grassroots level. This voluntary work would earn him recognition as the sportsperson of the year within his school.

At university he was invited to a talent identification day with Paralympics GB. Shortly after began Joe’s international athletic career competing for British Athletics. It was also at university that Joe became involved with his local running club, coaching senior athletes.

His highest achievement came when he represented Great Britain in athletics in the 800m and 1500m. Competing at the Junior World Games in 2010 winning Gold and Bronze.

In 2012 Joe decided to attend another talent identification day, this time in triathlon. The following year Joe was offered to join the World Class Performance Program with British Triathlon.

Alongside his athletic career, Joe had become the Head Coach for his local club and also began to work as an instructor at the local Leisure Centre.

After topping up his degree with a further qualification in Sports Therapy and UK Athletics accreditation he began to create his own brand of coaching. Having been coached by some of the best coaches in the world, Joe has taken that standard of excellence and applied the same standard to his own coaching.

In 2014 he founded his own business, ‘Transition Running’ and began to work full time as a Running and Performance coach. The business now has over 600 happy members who have discovered the benefits of a professional and experienced coach.
